Did you know that your Self Inking Rubber Stamps can be re-cycled? If the information on your self inking rubber stamp is outdated or just needs to be changed, we can replace the dieplate (the part that has your info) and the ink pad, for a great cost and environmental savings! You have to change the ink pad as well when you do this, since the old ink pad will have a memory of the old stamps. That is, it will have hills and valleys from where the old dieplate pressed against the ink pad's surface. These will not line up with the new dieplate and the imprint will not be clear. So starting fresh means two parts, new dieplate and new inkpad. Click here to order your new replacement die plate! Please note that traditional hand stamps or woodmounts and pre-inked stamps can not be recycled. If you are not sure what style of stamp you have, look through our F.A.Q. page and see "What is a self inking stamp?". There you will find explanations of the different types of stamps. If you're still not sure, give us a call. We'll help. If they are a quality brand name stamp, such as Max Stamp®, Colop® 2000 Plus, Mark Maker or Trodat®, there is really no reason to ever throw them out! Assuming that you purchased a high quality rubber stamp from a reputable shop, they should have told you that the unit has a lifetime warranty against any manufacturer's defects, that the machine can be re-inked and that if the information every changes, you simply have to change the die plate and ink pad. You now have a new stamp without having to buy the whole thing again! Should the shop where you purchased the stamp dispute the above facts, then they are simply trying to make more money from you by selling you a new self inking stamp and are not being completely honest. One thing to remember .... custom date stamps can have a
specialty die plate replaced but the date bands can not be changed. When
you run out of years on your date stamp, you do have to get a new one. Most
often, the date stamp is quite worn in the 10 years (an average on high quality
units) it takes to use up all of the years on it. Replacing just the year
band could result in an uneven imprint, the size and style of text not matching
and an outrageous labour charge for you! It is a much better value to
start again with a brand new unit and get another 10 years out of it. We at T.S.T.
